About Laura

Laura started her career in health and fitness as a certified Spinning Instructor in 2001 and subsequently earned her certification for Personal Training through ACE (American Council on Exercise). First introduced to Pilates in 2004, Laura completed her comprehensive training at Harmony Pilates Studio in Shadyside. Laura is PMA Certified (Pilates Method Alliance) and is also a certified Pink Ribbon Program® instructor. This Pilates based program is designed to help women regain full range of motion to those areas affected after breast cancer surgery. She has also completed the Pilates for MS and other Neurological Injuries course with Mariska Breland.

Laura attended IDEA World Fitness Conference 2014 and took workshops such as Core and Shoulder Dysfunction and Assessment with the Gray Institute, Athletic Conditioning on the Arc Barrel with Stott Pilates, Pilates and Yoga fusion with Lawrence Biscontini, and Mat for Mixed Populations with Christie Idavoy of Polestar Pilates. And of course, because of her love for spin, she took a few cycling workshops.

Laura has studied with Michele Larsson of Core Dynamics in Santa Fe and is committed to continuing her education through Pilates seminars and trainings.

Laura held the position of financial analyst with the May Company for 7 years. She has a BA in Merchandising and a MA in Teaching. After spending time teaching in Propel Elementary Schools, Laura decided to shift her love of teaching to Pilates.

Although currently on a leave of absence she has been a CASA (Court Appointed special Advocate) volunteer for 7 years. As a CASA Laura advocates for children in the foster care system.
